  • Starting – What are the activities that form the information search?
  • Chaining – Who are your following? What are the references?
  • Browsing – What are you using for the search?
  • Differentiating – How are you filtering and selecting your sources? Are they based on the judgment of quality and relevance?
  • Monitoring – Are you keeping track of developments in that area you are searching for?
  • Extracting – What systematic extraction of material of interest are you focusing on?)
  • Verifying – Are you checking for accuracy
  • Ending – What is your last search? Did you check to ensure that all materials are covered?
